
Today was so great! I finally got to spend some real time with my family. We cooked some healthy food for a cinco de mayo IGTV video giveaway. I also celebrated pre 5 de Mayo with a glass of wine. Even though, I am limiting my wine consumption; I truly believe in spontaneity and enjoying the moment, with portion control of course! I can bend my rules to enjoy family time to the fullest! Family time is so important because it keeps me grounded. I take what I like from my family traditions and change what I feel we can do better. Family is not perfect but it tells a story for us to learn from our ancestors.
Whenever I feel like giving up I think of my ancestors who fought in Puebla to defend us from France and that was just one fight. Our ancestors wanted us to rise in the world and that keeps me going. This video was so special to me because it showed even in times of trouble family and good food can make the heart smile.

Today food & workout recap:
I felt good starting my week with making healthy food with family. For breakfast I had 2 eggs with oatmeal & fruit. My lunch was a delicious Salmon & veggies dish my dad made for me and I only had one more snack of 2 eggs and 1 eggs white. My workout was with my community on Youtube Live. We did Cardio and abs for 45 minutes! Total calories burned was 260.
Total food calories for today was 1,364, 22% Carbohydrates, 49% Fat, 28% Protein.
All in all it was a great day. I got to finally see my family and eat healthy yummy food while we talked and laughed. Family days will always be important to me.
