Doing everything right and seeing no change on the scale can be so frustrating. I woke up today back at 164lbs! WTF! Our body can be so stubborn at the beginning of a transition. It gets used to a weight and wants to hold on.
It definitely didn’t feel good, but I quickly got into investigator mode. I reviewed my meals from the last 2 days on My Fitness Pal app and realized maybe my body didn’t like the steak I had two days in a row. Steak is harder to digest so it makes sense. So start resolving this I will have lots of Apple cider vinegar and Smooth Move tea these next couple days to quickly get it out. We can hold onto several pounds just in fecal matter; eating lots of nuts does this too. This is why again it’s so important to listen to our body and learn what it likes and what it doesn’t.
A person’s background should also be taken into account when planning a meal–looking at where your family comes from and what kinds of foods were eaten there can help inform a diet too! I am going to consume more beans this week and see what my body does.
Nutrition is all trial and error. For some people eating a small 4-oz steak for lunch helps them lose weight and for others it does the opposite. This whole journey is all about self-discovery. Today I only did a mini 30 minute full body workout with my girl.
But you also need to allow yourself to relax your diet once in a rare while, or you will quickly burn yourself out! Today I needed to unwind just a little and spend some quality time talking to my girls, so I had a glass of red wine while I confided in them what’s been on my mind. It was just what my soul needed—and that benefits my body!

Change more than just your body
