Running a business is hard. Running a business while pregnant and traditional Mexican parents que te dicen qué hacer? “Mija, ¿por qué no descansas?” “Ay, pero el estrés le hace daño al bebé!” That’s a whole different challenge
In this blog, I’m giving you the real, unfiltered truth about how I balance work, pregnancy, and life—without losing my damn mind. So if you’re a young Latina with big dreams—whether you’re an entrepreneur already or just thinking about it—this is your sign to keep going. Let’s break the rules, shatter expectations, and show the world que somos chingonas. Listas? Let’s go!
Alright, let’s get real about fitness during pregnancy. I’m 41 years old, six months pregnant, and still hitting the gym 4-5 times a week. Fun fact: If you’ve seen my previous video about Lies I was Told During my First Trimester, doctors had warned me that I had to give up weight training or risk harming the baby. But I decided to listen to my body and at my 10 week placenta check up, doctors confirmed what I already knew: That my baby was 100% healthy.
Full disclaimer: I was weight training for years before getting pregnant, and you should absolutely consult your doctor before continuing or starting any workout routine during pregnancy.
First things first – my warm-up is non-negotiable. For my core work, I’m doing some glute bridges on a yoga ball to take the pressure off my lower back while still working my posterior chain. To all my expectant mamis out there – if you’re feeling unsure about your gym routine during pregnancy, drop a comment below! I’d love to know what specific fitness questions you have. I finish with 15 minutes on the stairmaster at a moderate pace – no more HIIT for me right now, but cardio is still so important. And of course, I’m hydrating constantly – my water bottle is basically glued to my hand these days. Here’s the truth no one tells you: pregnancy fitness isn’t about pushing limits – I’ve had to drop weights, reduce intensity, and constantly adjust as my body changes. But showing up? That’s the victory.
Now it’s hora de chambear! You know I love going live—just me and my girls chismeando about the hottest TikTok flash sales. Later, I’m helping my girl set up her TikTok Shop live—same strategy that got me those crazy sales. I’m teaching her all my secrets because when one of us wins, we all win. Oh, and… I’ve got BIG news coming. You’re gonna wanna stick around for this one.
I can’t believe I just bought a whole commercial building! You might be asking yourself, “Gia, what do you need a whole ass building for?” Well, this isn’t just some random property – this is going to be our new HOME BASE where I’ll be teaching all my TikTok Shop secrets! Imagine: workshops, live sale practice rooms, the whole vibe!
And the best part? I’m bringing ALL my girls along for the ride. We’re taking what worked for me and scaling it BIG TIME.
But don’t worry – I’m taking you all with me every step of the way. First up? The official tour! You’ll get to see the before so you can appreciate the glow-up even more. You can check out the tour over on my YouTube channel.
If you’d told me ten years ago—a fitness instructor filming workouts on a webcam in her parents’ living room—that I’d be flying to teach at a TikTok creator mansion, I’d have laughed. ‘¿En serio?’ But life has a way of surprising you when you refuse to settle. I took my love for teaching, my eye for fashion, and esas ganas that come from knowing your worth—and built something that lets me empower women on my own terms. Now, at 41 and pregnant, I’m more certain than ever: success isn’t about age. It’s about aligning your work with your purpose. And to every woman watching? Your moment isn’t coming. It’s already here—you just have to claim it.
“Mira, here’s my secret: I don’t shoot for 100% anymore. 85%? That’s my sweet spot. Some days I crush my to-do list, other days I barely scratch the surface – and you know what? Both count. Because showing up consistently matters more than being perfect. And this hits different for us Latinas. We were raised to give 150% at everything – la casa, el trabajo, la familia. But I’m here to tell you: 85% is enough. Your dreams don’t need perfection. They need you showing up, even when it’s messy. At the end of the day, I like to pause and ask myself: “Did I move the needle today? Did I take care of myself too?” Because both matter. That woman you want to become? She’s built through all those 85% days. So take the pressure off. Do what you can. Keep moving forward. We’ve got this!
Being pregnant has changed how I approach everything. There’s no “off switch” when you run your own business, and there’s definitely no pause button when you’re growing a baby. So the balance is tricky—but I’ve learned how to be more gentle with myself. Some days, I crush it. Other days, I rest. And both are valid. Do I still get overwhelmed? Absolutely. But I remind myself that this path has given me purpose, power, and peace, even on the hard days. I don’t think I would’ve found that sitting in an office doing work that didn’t light me up. Every day isn’t perfect, but every day is mine. And that’s what I wanted all along.
Change more than just your body
