I am a personal trainer who struggles with weight gain and loss frequently. That means sometimes I get comments on YouTube saying “how are you so fat if you work out all the time?” As hurtful as that comment may be intended to be, it’s actually a great topic.
There’s so much truth to the saying “we cannot work out a bad diet.” We can work out all day but it’s simple—if we are eating more calories than our body can use, it will store as fat. My emotions get the best of me sometimes and doing that several weekends in a month will have consequences.
I own this and so I am committing to a new way of living. I won’t apologize for gaining some weight since I start my YouTube channel 8 years ago. Yes, I have a different body now, and yes, I have also aged 8 years (hormones need to readjust!); yes, I am still trying to figure out the world. I own all of this!
However, I won’t tolerate women who put down other women. And here I’m addressing the ladies who feel they can comment on my videos and (I quote) comment, “You shouldn’t be a trainer because you’re too fat.” To bear clear, this upsets me not for my own sake, but because it can trigger *other* women to hate their bodies. It is also a reflection of how these commenters feel about themselves. And that does make me sad. Bottom line, there is enough hate toward women in the world coming from men—we don’t need to add to the flame.🔥 👎🏽
I make it a daily practice to love on women either by liking their Insta pics, sending them a text or encouragement, or love in any other way! If we are doing the opposite, we need to check ourselves, own it, and make the effort to improve. According to science and my own experience, positive energy can only attract positive energy.
Today food & workout recap:
My food was way better today. I ate 1301 calories and hit my macros of carbs and proteins. My workout was 60 minutes of resistance training on IG Live & my private zoom training session. Working out with my friends online really makes a difference. How are you working out during quarantine?
