Hola chicas!
I hope you’re all doing well. I know it’s been a little while since I last blogged or posted a YouTube video, but life has been a whirlwind, and I just wanted to take a moment to catch up with you all. First of all, THANK YOU to my amazing loyal audience for your support and patience. It’s not easy juggling everything—life, family, work—but I’ve missed connecting with you all, and I’m so glad to be back.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know me as Body by Gia, your virtual personal fitness trainer. You may remember the viral curvy girl fitness challenges “Desarrollar Más Gluteos en 60 Días” series if you’re a real OG. It became my signature program, and I was so grateful for all of your support. But, if you’ve noticed, I recently took down some of those videos, along with other fitness routines and stopped posting on YouTube. You might be wondering why, and I’m excited to share that with you today.
I’m also thrilled to let you in on a little secret—I’m pregnant! Yes, at 41, I’m about to embark on one of the most beautiful, challenging, and life-changing journeys of my life. You may remember me sharing this in YouTube videos and blogs of when I started trying and my frustration when it didn’t happen. I wanted to be real and show it isn’t that easy. Most people make it look so easy and well it wasn’t for me. It took me three years to get pregnant. But after a lot of heartache and disappointments, I’m finally here, and I’m so excited to share this new chapter with all of you. So, let’s get into why I made some changes and what’s coming up next for this community.
You guys know me as “Body by Gia,” and I’ve been on a journey that’s led me to where I am today. My story began back in 2012 when I first fell in love with creating content on YouTube. I started sharing my fitness journey, my curvy girl workouts, and the mental health struggles I was facing. The connection I built with all of you was unlike anything I could have imagined, and over the years, YouTube became my platform for storytelling and inspiration. I was able to share both my highs and lows, and together, we built a community that felt like family.
But life threw me a curveball in 2021. A horrible lawsuit took me by surprise, and it was a long, draining battle. The fight was over my name “Body By Gia” and my logo—two things that meant so much to me. It was mentally exhausting and discouraged me from posting content on YouTube. At one point, it even led me into a really dark place. I struggled with suicidal thoughts, and honestly, it was one of the hardest times of my life.
I found strength in remembering that no matter how much I lost during that time, they could never take away my creativity, my story, or what makes me, me. The “cockroaches,” as I like to call them, are finally gone, and I’m standing here stronger than ever, ready to pick up where I left off.
During my time off YouTube, I pursued other passions. One of them was fashion—because let’s be honest, I work out because I love to wear nice things. And as I explored this passion, I also began working with a fashion brand on TikTok named “SUGU fashion” and started live selling on TikTok shop. It’s been a year of growth and excitement, but with the potential TikTok ban looming, I’ve been left wondering what’s next.
That’s when it hit me. No matter what happens on other platforms, I need to come back to YouTube. This is where it all began. This is where I shared my life with all of you, and now, I want to share the most personal journey yet!
With that said, I’m so excited to finally be in a place where I can share something as special as this—my pregnancy journey! It’s not been an easy road to get here, but it’s been so worth it. Most recently, I had convinced myself that having children simply wasn’t in the cards for me. I reached a point in my life where I had made peace with it. I had decided that if God didn’t want me to have a child, then I wasn’t going to try anything drastic; I made the decision that in vitro wasn’t something I’d pursue, that our path was one without children. I thought the chapter had closed, but life had other plans: After getting married (again lol), my husband and I found out that we were pregnant on our honeymoon! I’m officially 13 weeks pregnant.
Now, I know a lot of you might remember my husband as my “toxic ex,” and I get it. We’ve been through a lot together, and I’ve had to do a lot of personal growth. The reason I’m even able to share our relationship story with you is that we’ve both changed. He leveled up, but only because I leveled up too—I learned to love and respect myself, and when he saw that growth in me, he realized he needed to treat me with the same respect. I’m not saying you should get back with your toxic ex, haha! But I do believe that people can change, and I wanted to share that with you and be fully transparent.
As I move forward in this new chapter, I’ll be sharing my wedding video and everything that comes with being pregnant. And no, we’re not eating for two! I’ll be doing a deep dive into the nutrition side of pregnancy on my YouTube channel soon because I know it’s important to stay healthy for both me and the baby.
Don’t worry, I haven’t retired from fitness! In fact, I’m working out even more during my pregnancy. Fitness has always been a part of who I am, and now more than ever, I’m focused on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. I’ll be sharing fitness tips for pregnancy, as well as how I’m managing my nutrition and workouts while carrying a baby. I’ve always believed that fitness teaches us that we’re capable of doing hard things, and this pregnancy is just another one of those challenges.
As I grow and change, so will my content. You’ve known me for years creating content in Spanish, but moving forward, I’ll be creating more content in English. This is not only for my Latino community in the U.S. but for Latinos around the world. I want to reach and inspire as many people as I can, and I want to make sure my message gets to all the women who need it. That doesn’t mean I’m leaving my roots behind; I’ll always be the same Body by Gia you fell in love with. I’ll always stay true to myself, no matter how my content evolves.
So, what can you expect? You’ll still see fitness tips, but you won’t see any full, follow-along routines. Now my videos will focus more on fashion, pregnancy, working out while pregnant, and everything in between. You’ll see my struggles with my changing body, and I’ll be open and transparent about how things are shifting as I move through this journey.
I’m excited for what’s to come, and I can’t wait to continue sharing with you. I want to know what kind of content you’d like to see from me as I embark on this new chapter. You can comment your ideas in my new Life Update video on YouTube. Whether it’s fashion tips, pregnancy struggles, or just life updates, I’m here for it all.
Thank you for being here, for your love and support. I’m so grateful to have you all along for the ride, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us.
Stay tuned —there’s a lot more to come!
WITH LOVE,
Change more than just your body
