Hey Chicos,
Happy New year! Every year I plan a fitness challenge and I’m super hyped to build muscle, burn the fat from the tamales I ate in December LOL and cut out all sugar for the month but this year is different…because last year was different.
In case you didn’t notice, I stopped posting as many long workout videos on YouTube and even Instagram in 2022. It is not because I stopped working out because I still do 5-6 times a week, but I just didn’t post every workout. I love working out but I hate the comments I get when I workout on social media. Putting my body out there like I have puts me in the position to get judged and criticized.
I want to say I’m so strong and the hate comments never get to me but that would be a lie. After you read thousands of hateful comments, it does start to effect your mental health. I started to notice negative self talk and hateful thoughts towards my body. I knew something had to change. I understand why Selena Gomez does social media detoxes now and her hate comments are on another level.
As a public figure we are expected to take peoples negative opinions and just deal with it but we are human and it starts to hurt. Why I stopped posting workout videos the majority of the year was for my mental health. I decided to choose me.
I have also been going through the hardest battle my business has ever been through. Again being in the public eye you can become a target for peoples malicious plans and I have become that for 2 people trying to extort money from me. It has been ongoing harassment for 2 years. I have lost sleep over their threats, cried a lot but I truly believe the Universe brings you to where you need to be. I have faith that this is preparing me for exponential growth in my business and it will make me stronger. I am confident the truth will prevail in the courts as I put this case to rest this year with a dismissal with prejudice…In Jesus name.
It hurts to be a target but I will be ok. I have to take the good in with the bad.
I posted my 10 year anniversary video on Youtube this last November and there has been so much good from my public persona. I wouldn’t change it for anything. The lives I have been able to touch and make a difference in has been worth it. The way all of you have touched my life with love and support all these years is such a blessings. Yes, there are lots of haters online but there are also lots of really loving people and that’s who I choose to focus on.
Back to why I won’t be doing anymore fitness challenges is because I have decided to start focusing my content on mental health and mindset coaching. These two topics have developed so much mental endurance in me that it is all I want to talk about now. Both mindset and mental health is necessary to change your body and ultimately your life. I have spoken briefly on these topics in my workout videos but I want to focus 100% on these topics now. I am excited to create content again.
I have been posting booty workouts the last 10 years and it’s time to see Body By Gia in a new light. I had so much fun posting workouts and fitness challenges the last 10 years but now I am excited to start creating mindset challenges to start changing the way you think. Our thoughts are more powerful than our body. Our body is the slave to our mind and it is my new mission to help you empower your mind so you can empower your body and life.
I hope you join me on this new journey. I have already started posting about these topics on my TikTok@bodybygia. Check out this viral video that got over a million views in the first couple days — “10 uncomfortable truths about life”
Lets stay connected online, please tag @bodybygia to send you some encouragement.
Ok time to clean out my closet and workout! These rainy days make it hard to do much but the little I do is enough, I am enough, and so are you.
WITH LOVE,
Change more than just your body
