To be honest with you. Quarantine life is nothing like you see in the movies. At first it wasn’t so bad, I was able to catch up on some Netflix shows, read some more books and get extra sleep. Now, reality is starting to kick in. I have been so in my feelings these last couple weeks and observing the impact of COVID-19. I am very aware the world will never be the same.
It feels like we have been hibernating in seclusion and what was suppose to be two weeks turned into 2 months and will most likely be another three. We now have a critical choice to make: we can either waste away the moments that make up a boring day or use this time to your advantage. We can continued binge-watching television and munching on snacks or we could embark upon a campaign of self-improvement and helping others. I’m choosing the second option, of course — duh! It has felt so incredible nourishing my body these last 3 weeks and spending more time Live with my community through Facebook, Instagram, Youtube & TikTik. How can you make the best of this time?
I know some of us are still working from home but it’s too easy to let the hours, days and weeks fly by without doing anything constructive. Use this extra time as a gift to be proactive. Think of all of the things you’ve always wanted to do, but never got around to doing.
Heres my take on how to make the most of quarantine-life.
- Create: Being creative has helped me through the most darkest of days. This helps bring out the little kids in us who remembers what its like to dreams. Create some IG Live streams on your favorite topics or get on TikTok and create some fun skits and dances. Create without the fear of being judged. Be free, create and see what comes out!
- Meditate. This is the best way to calm the mind and connect to your body. If you don’t know how to meditate you can find self guided meditations on youtube or use the one from my 30-Day Mind & Body Guide. You only need 5-10 minutes to start feeling a difference. Meditation combined with exercise has proven on a DNA level to reverse the aging process, what are you waiting for?
- Connect with family & friends online. Make these conversations meaningful through FaceTime conversations. This really helps us feel connected especially if you are alone in quarantine like me. Call at least one friend or family member daily.
- Learn. Sign up for free Online Classes. I signed up for a couple writing classes at HarvardX education. I have been wanting to do this forever, now I can and so can you. What classes have you wanted to take?
- Start an exercise routine. There are so many fitness classes online you can do weekly. Get on a routine and get in the best shape ever! We know that quarantine life will be here for a while so stop waiting and commit to a 30-Day Fitness Challenge! You can download my easy fitness guide and start today. Join me on this body transformation journey.
- Embrace quiet time. Take some quiet time for some introspection to assess where you are in your life and career. Reflect upon if you’re happy with who you are and what you’re doing. Be honest with yourself. There’s no benefit to pretending that everything is going great if it isn’t. If you are not happy with your professional and personal life, start developing a strategy to achieve your goals.
I hope these help! I know it has made a difference in my quarantine-life.
Moving one!
Week 3 Weigh In.
I started my period this week and was craving more chocolate but I still lost weight! Check out my weight-loss.

Since I started I’ve lost a total of 5.2 lbs, 1.1% of body fat, 1 inch off my waist and my muscle mass is at 36.9%. Wow, I did not expect to lose weight on my period. My body normally gains 3 lbs of water so I am very happy with the results.
The goal is 150 lbs by my birthday but the journey won’t end there. Eventually I want to get back to 145 lbs, which is where I was when I started my youtube channel. I am giving myself grace and being patient with the results. I can’t wait to show you my before and after pictures.
