No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening–it’s painful! Hebrews 12:11 shares good news; that afterward there is a peaceful harvest that produces right living for those who are trained by it. Discipline is not fun while it lasts but the good that discipline produces will far outweigh our temporary pain.
Self-discipline is about your ability to control your desires and impulses in an attempt to stay focused (for long enough) on what needs to get done to successfully achieve that goal. Possessing self-discipline requires having an internal desire, drive, and motivation that propels you forward toward your goal. My internal drive to this 50-day transform for my body, mind and spirit comes from knowing I can be better. I am happy with my body but want to love it better. This also helps build the muscle of self-discipline in me. Its a muscle I will always have to train. When we don’t practice discipline it can atrophy just like our physical muscles.
The first year after I stopped playing soccer ,I let go of my discipline and is the reason I gained the 50lbs. I have learned to embrace this spiritual and mental practice. It helps not to think of discipline as punishment, but rather as negative consequences of our negative choices. It is by moving through such consequences that we learn to make better, more loving choices–towards our body and others. Those choices result in peaceful fruits of goodness.

If you are in need to train your discipline; I highly recommend downloading my 30-Day Fitness Guide. You can repeat as many times as you need to. Create those muscle of discipline and keep moving forward until the fruit of the spiritual practice becomes readily apparent.
