Everything you do along your journey contributes to where you’re going. To do better, we have to know better and even when we know better, it takes time to change. We need to be constantly on a journey to know more, so we can do better. I don’t exclude myself from this category. I know I have things I still need to get better at. For example, I am still learning about food and nutrition. The more information I have on the side effects of some foods and not having others, the better my choices become. This doesn’t mean I will be perfect but each time I will get better. This also goes for my personal growth. I know I am doing the best I can and when I mess up, I review what I could have done different and forgive myself. There is no need to beat myself up about my error, I just need to know how I could have done it better. We do have to take ownership of our wrongs in order to do better the next time.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better you do better.” Maya Angelou
This means that we sometimes do wrong because of our ignorance or inexperience, but once we have learned more, we should show more understanding and improve on our past actions. I think the point of the saying is that we are all trying to do the best we can, the only way we know how. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that because we all have so many faults. But, don’t underestimate your ability to change once you truly know and understand that something is better for you. Once you know something is better, you will do it. And if you still haven’t made the change, your mind still has not fully understood why it is better.
Moving on!
I was happy to start my week off in the Cocoon Fitness Pod at Rejuvenate Wellness & Health center. I needed an energy boost after my emotions yesterday. The cocoon increases fat burning, promotes overall wellness and even improves sleep 😴 I also had A Meyer’s Cocktails 🍹, which is a vitamin infusion that enhances immune system, reduces fatigue, and helps with seasonal allergies. It includes vitamins: B-Complex Vitamins, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Magnesium and L-carnitine. It will also help my metabolism recover from the wine, too! Remember wine can reduce metabolism by 70% after just one drink. I also started my day with fasting cardio for 45 minutes, walking incline 15, speed 2-2.5, and stretching. Today was a good day! Self care is the best care…
